Skincare Routine

We’re back with part two, and no use wasting time with an intro, I took long enough to post it anyways.

Star Ingredient: Hemp Seed Oil, CBD

Why I love it: The combination of nourishing oils (hemp, squalene) and CBD makes for an amazing product. The CBD is naturally very calming so if you deal with irritation this is a fantastic option. Its not just a treatment though, I use it almost everyday and my skin is better for it!

Star Ingredient: Avocado and Marula Oil

Why I Love it: I could literally copy/paste what I said in my first skincare routine because my feelings haven’t changed. This is the product that got me into skincare, that changed my skin. It is my holy grail product and its amazing.

Why I love it: The combination of glycerin, aloe, rose flower water, and jojoba oil makes for a dreamy product. If your skin is less dry than mine then you probably don’t even need to use a full pump of it, it is so nourishing. It is an excellent everyday moisturizer for all skin types.

Tips: In the morning, I always mix 1-2 drops of oil into the pump of moisturizer to really lock in hydration all day. Also, Follain has a lot of sales on their name-brand line so look out for those to save. I just got a free full sized moisturizer because I spent over $80 on their site!

Star Ingredient: Calendula Offincalis Flower Extract

Why I love it: This is a very rich cream that lasts a long time. I have had my pot since last march and I’m only just about to run out. The combination of Calendula extract and Aloe makes this product super calming and hydrating which is perfect for the desert climate I live in most of the year. I reach for this at night, especially of my skin is feeling irritated.

Tips: This is not essential, but I like the texture of this product much better when I keep It in my skincare fridge.

Why I Love it: no whitecast! need I say more? To be fair I am…fair. but I promise the no whitecast is verified by many positive sephora reviews. It also absorbs quickly for easy application.

Negative: it is a chemical sunscreen, as I talked about in my last routine, there has been some research indicating that the chemicals get into our blood. it is unclear how much or if it is dangerous, but I decided life is too short to keep using chalky, pilling, mineral sunscreens.

Star ingredient: Kaolin clay, Lactic Acid

Why I love it: everyone needs a clay mask in their rotation. It is the best, and safest, way to unclog pores (put those pore strips down please). There are so many on the market but I like this one a lot because I trust that all of the ingredients are safe and sustainably sourced.

Star Ingredient: Oat kernel flour

Why I love it: physical exfoliants (the kinds that feel like a scrub) are bad for your skin! They create small tears in your skin that can lead to inflammation and irritation. This powder exfoliant is just as powerful, leaving your face feeling scrubbed and fresh, without hurting it

Some final notes:

for my dry skin people out there I would highly recommend getting a thicker moisturizer, or even moisturizing mask for at night. I am a huge fan of oils, but in order for them to hydrate properly they need to be sealed in with an occlusive layer. Currently I am using the Follain Ultra Hydrating Mask. I also love the Susanne Kaufmann moisturizing mask.

Also, this is just my routine, I hope you learned something but it won’t work for oily/combo skin. That said, if you have any questions or want a consult feel free to email or dm me!
