“Tea is the elixir of life.”

- Eisai, Kissa Yojoki

Something biologically, or perhaps geologically, predisposes me to loving tea.

a good tea mug should be bigger than both of your hands combined

I have a list of blog post ideas, and this is not on it. I made myself a cup of meadow tea as a study break but looking into the amber liquid filled me with a deep….something that I thought I should share

as much as I get disheartened by the gloom here, I know that I will miss sipping exorbitant amounts of hot tea when sitting sweating in southern california.

tea often gets portrayed as a cosy beverage one enjoys alone while gazing out a window on a rainy day, but its really a social beverage too. sitting in miro tea (precovid) over a pot (or several) of africana tea, I’ve felt connection like nowhere else. It may have been due to the tea-drunkeness, but no matter who i sat down with there I knew I would leave feeling much closer to that person. that kind of tea drinking satiates the soul.

I should be writing a french essay right now.

how does chai from miro taste so much better than when I make it at home?

this is not, thought it may seem, an add for miro tea. its an add for all teas and tea shops and tea shop owners and goers and the people who make those places special!

I remember being in primary school and going over to my friend’s house for a tea party where the tea was just below room temperature. dégeulasse. I sat in front of the microwave heating up cup after cup… if you’re going to throw a tea party throw it right!

rule #1: piping hot tea stays hot longer—prolonging sip and chat time. the hotter the tea the better the conversation.

needless to say…all of you are welcome to tea any time
